SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT

STP is classified into three different types:

  • MBBR Technology- MBBR is a low-cost wastewater treatment solution. This technology allows for efficient disposal outcomes while using less energy and incurring lower discharge costs. Organic substances, as well as nitrification and denitrification, are separated using this technology. An activated sludge aeration system is included in the MBBR model. It is easy to maintain, can handle a high volume of load, and has a high sludge retention time (SRT) effectiveness, which improves the nitrification process.
  • MBR Technology- Membrane bioreactor is based on a combination of conventional activated sludge and biofilm media. MBR is better in shifting of complex or toxic substances and effluent water quality is superior. The membranes are used to perform the critical solid-liquid separation function. The benefits of MBR includes a reduced footprint, usually 30-50% smaller than an equivalent conventional active sludge facility with secondary clarifiers and media tertiary filtration
  • SBR Technology- This technology offers several operational and performance advantages over the conventional ASP. The SBR process performs all the functions of a conventional activated sludge plant (biological removal of pollutants, solid/liquid separation, and treated effluent removal) by using a single variable volume basin in an alternating mode of operation that dispenses with the need for final clarifiers and high-RAS pumping capacity.
